Solar EV charging

DC solar EV charging infrastructure for faster EV Adoption: At present, the grid-power in rural India may be available only about average 8 hours a day. In such a scenario, rural EV adoption is difficult due to the lack of reliable-charging infrastructure.

Challenges

Rural areas are more dispersed than urban areas, forcing residents to travel longer distances to fulfil daily needs, perform business or leisure activities, and access other services.

Majority of the internal roads are kaccha roads. The quality and access to grid supply of electricity is not as good as in urban areas. The general income of rural population is very low compared to the urban population.

Saurya Ujjwala Charging infrastructure

With the above factors in mind, we propose to set up DC solar power plant without the solar inverter stage along with energy storage to for rural-EV charging station. It will facilitate normal Lead-Acid charging as well as swappable Lithium-Ion charged battery packs as a service to operate electrical vehicles on rural roads. The swappable battery facility will reduce the cost burden on the purchase of EVs and provide a reliable and continuous availability of charged batteries without having to wait for charging the batteries at the charging stations. WE will utilize the grid power to charge backup energy storage during the night or when solar irradiance is inadequate during a cloudy weather.
